Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in The Speech Master 2026?
Any student currently enrolled in a recognised tertiary institution in Zambia is eligible to participate. This includes universities, colleges, and other accredited higher learning institutions across all provinces.
What does my speech video need to include?
Your speech should be 1–2 minutes long and address at least one of the Speech Focus Areas outlined in the competition guidelines. It must be evidence-based, clearly delivered, and responsibly communicated. Good audio and visual quality is important. Download the Speech Development Guide for full details.
Is there a cost to participate?
Participation in The Speech Master 2026 is free of charge. All educational resources, mentorship sessions, and programme materials are provided at no cost to participants.
How are speeches judged?
Speeches are evaluated by a qualified panel of public health professionals, educators, and communication experts using the official Judging Framework. Seven criteria are assessed: use of credible research, understanding of social and economic impacts, reference to relevant frameworks, clarity and argumentation, responsible communication, creativity and delivery, and public awareness value.
What are the prizes?
Winners receive top prizes, trophies, certificates, and medals across six award categories. The Grand Champion and category winners are announced at the Grand Finale on 19 June 2026. All participants who complete the programme graduate as Tobacco Control Champions.
How do I submit my speech video?
Registered participants will receive full submission instructions as part of the orientation process. Videos are submitted directly to the Thy Speech Master team via the designated submission channel communicated during onboarding. Contact the Secretariat for details.
How can my organisation partner with The Speech Master?
We welcome partnerships from organisations aligned with our mission of youth empowerment and public health awareness. Please use the contact form on this page or reach us directly at tv@chimbala.com to discuss partnership opportunities and how your organisation can contribute.
