Why It Matters

Protecting Present & Future Generations

Tobacco and nicotine addiction continue to affect individuals, families, communities, and national development. Young people have a critical role to play.

Protecting Young Lives

Through speech and storytelling, students champion the protection of children and young people from the harms of tobacco and nicotine products.

Research-Based Awareness

Participants use credible data and research to craft compelling, evidence-based speeches that inform and inspire communities to make healthier choices.

Youth Leadership

Young leaders develop civic responsibility, public speaking excellence, and become Tobacco Control Champions for their communities.

National Development

By addressing the economic burden of addiction, participants contribute to meaningful dialogue on public health and national progress.

Community Well-Being

Students promote constructive conversations about healthy lifestyles and community well-being through multimedia engagement and public outreach.

Public Health Governance

Participants deepen their understanding of the Tobacco Control Act and relevant public health frameworks, becoming advocates for responsible governance.

World No Tobacco Day 2026

"Unmasking the Appeal – Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction"

The 2026 World No Tobacco Day theme calls upon communities, governments, institutions, families, and young people to expose the tactics used to make tobacco and nicotine products appear attractive and socially acceptable. From colourful packaging to digital influence, many products are deliberately designed to appeal to younger populations.

Through Thy Speech Master, students become ambassadors of awareness, education, and healthier choices β€” transforming knowledge into action.
